Visual Identity inspired by the art of Claude Monet.

Monét was shaped by the spirit of its surroundings, opening its first location at the Safeya Ali Kanoo Hub in 2022. Rooted in the belief that coffee and food are forms of art, and inspired by the Hub’s mission to foster creativity, our client envisioned a brand where art and coffee could seamlessly coexist. Monét emerged from this vision.

Our scope included developing the complete brand identity which included custom iconography, packaging, and comprehensive brand guidelines.

Challenge

The challenge in branding Monét was to transform a simple idea into a brand experience that felt authentic and evocative. The concept of coffee as art created a natural point of inspiration. The name itself opened an opportunity to connect the brand to Claude Monet, whose work is known for capturing atmosphere, color, and emotion.

With access to a wide archive of Monét’s paintings, we identified a way to bridge the worlds of coffee and fine art in a manner that felt immersive rather than literal. This idea became the foundation of the brand. Monét was shaped as a café where customers do not simply drink coffee but interact with art in their everyday rituals. Through carefully curated visuals and packaging that features Monét’s brushstrokes, the brand invites guests to experience a blend of artistry and craft with every cup.

Approach

Our approach focused on crafting a visual language that felt true to the world of fine art. The color palette was carefully selected from Monet’s own paintings to evoke a calm and inspirational atmosphere. Every detail, from typography to composition, was chosen to echo the experience of art spaces and museums. Guided by the brand strategy, we ensured that each element served a purpose and aligned with the essence of Monet’s work.

Impact

Monét has grown into a recognized and well-loved café brand, now reaching over 20,000 followers and welcoming customers across two vibrant locations: the sunlit, garden-surrounded Safeya Ali Kanoo Hub and the calming waterfront setting of Harbour Row. The brand design has played a significant role in shaping how people connect with the café. Its art-inspired palette, expressive visuals, and thoughtful applications create an atmosphere that feels both uplifting and serene. By weaving the emotional qualities of Monet’s work into everyday touchpoints, the identity transforms a simple café visit into a moment of inspiration and clarity. Monét has become a creative refuge where customers feel grounded, inspired, and at ease.
